First Annual Summer Black Arts Celebration

On Sunday, June 7, 2009, at 6:00 p.m., the beautifully renovated Community Arts Center, located at 120 South 2^nd Street in Historic Downtown Wilmington, will serve as host venue to a very special Arts & Entertainment event. EL JAYE ENTERPRISES has planned its “First Annual Summer Black Arts Celebration.” You are warmly and cordially invited to share in with me in this special occasion by your presence and participation. The Celebration will feature a tasteful cross-section of a culturally rich people and highlight some of the best offerings in art, spoken word, and music the Cape Fear region has to offer. Guests who attend will have the opportunity to view and purchase works by local artists whose talents have reached many or only a few. Additionally, guests will be able to share in the accomplishments and achievements of a people, who for so long, were oppressed, depressed, and viewed as second-class citizens by the majority. Food and drink will be on hand to help keep you in a festive mood.
